Seana Gaherin to Join Needham Bank’s Advisory Council

NEEDHAM, MA-–Since opening Dunn Gaherin’s Pub & Restaurant in 1981, Seana Gaherin has been a model of civic engagement in the community. A Needham resident, she’s served as both the Chair of and on the Executive Committee of the Newton Needham Chamber of Commerce. In addition, she is a Board Advisor to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham and on the Board of the Restaurant Business Alliance. Most recently, she served on Newton’s task force for choosing a new police chief.

Aside from her numerous formal positions she’s even better known in the community for her infectious enthusiasm in organizing all manners of community events to bring people together; i.e. creator of the Feast of The Falls (a free catered outdoor community dinner for 400 guests), a festive parade to celebrate the re-linking of Newton and Needham upon completion of the Central Ave/Elliot St bridge, charity fun runs, community theater, and the list goes on. Seana and Dunn Gaherin’s epitomize the ethos of local businesses and business leaders taking a leadership role in serving their community and its residents.

“I’ve known Needham Bank very well over the past 25 years and when I was asked to serve on their Advisory Council, the answer was an immediate ‘When can I start?’ I know from my own experience what Needham Bank does for the community and like my restaurant, we never say no. It takes just a little more effort to be fully engaged in the community, but when that happens – particularly for a community bank – the difference we can all make together is significant. I’m truly honored to be asked to serve and I look forward to attending my first meeting in a few weeks” offered Gaherin.

“Is there anyone who isn’t impressed with Seana’s infectious enthusiasm for all things community? She is fully engaged in making our community a better place. Everyone knows and respects her. And who doesn’t love going to Dunn Gaherin’s? Seana is a terrific addition to our Advisory Council team, a good friend, and someone who we all look forward to working more closely with” commented Needham Bank Senior Vice President, Eric Morse.
